VELOZ survey: clear information about practical EV benefits motivates consumers’ decisions

Consumers need clear, credible information to feel confident making the decision to drive electric. VELOZ Executive Director Josh Boone makes that case with data to back it up.

In the most recent Ride to Zero blog, Josh digs into VELOZ’s latest national survey, which shows that people’s interest in EVs increases when they have clear information about practical benefits of driving electric.

The survey shows that some of the most motivating EV messages are also the most straightforward:

  • Less maintenance—no oil changes, no tune-ups
  • Home charging while you sleep, using a standard outlet
  • 300+ miles of range, on par with gas vehicles
  • Real savings—up to $2,000 per year and as much as $10,000 over a vehicle’s lifetime
