CalETC provides testimony at state capitol in support of LCFS

CalETC Executive Director Laura Renger testifying before the California Assembly Select Committee on the Transportation Cost and Impact of the Low Carbon Fuel Standard.

CalETC Executive Director Laura Renger testified this week at the state capitol, highlighting the importance of the Low Carbon Fuel Standard.

The LCFS is a key program that helps fund our zero-emission future. It works by generating credits that electric utilities and charging providers can monetize, with the funds going directly toward EV incentives and infrastructure. Electric utilities have already invested over $840 million through the LCFS to encourage the adoption of zero-emission vehicles.

The LCFS helps solve a critical challenge: building out the charging network. By providing upfront funds for new charging stations, the program gives providers the certainty they need to build infrastructure. This, in turn, helps consumers feel more confident in purchasing an EV.

CalETC strongly supports the LCFS as an effective tool for helping California meet its clean transportation goals.
