CalETC joins California leaders calling for restoring Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund

CalETC and more than 30 organizations are urging Governor Newsom and the Legislature to restore zero-emission transportation investments in the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund.

The coalition placed a full-page ad in The Sacramento Bee to underscore the urgency as the legislative session nears its close.

“Restoring these investments is essential for California to stay on track with our clean transportation and climate goals,” said CalETC Executive Director Laura Renger. “These programs are not just about reducing greenhouse gases. They create jobs, support communities, and deliver cleaner air for all Californians. We cannot afford to lose this momentum.”

Renger added that these investments drive economic growth and attract billions in private capital, create thousands of good-paying jobs, and protect communities with cleaner air and healthier outcomes.

“California has made real progress in advancing clean cars, trucks, and buses, but the work is not finished,” Renger said. “Families, businesses, and communities in every part of the state rely on these programs to ensure affordable access to clean vehicles, expand charging and fueling infrastructure, and meet the state’s climate and air quality goals.”
