Today the California Energy Commission announced that the Golden State now hosts more than 200,000 publicly available and shared EV charging ports — a leap of 22,000 since March.
That number reflects how increasingly accessible EV charging has become: at grocery stores, workplaces, apartments, and destinations.
Now there are 68% more EV charger ports than the number of gasoline nozzles statewide, and 94% of Californians live within 10 minutes of an EV charger.
We see this as proof that deliberate investment, policy alignment, and public-private collaboration produce real change.
We join the CEC in celebrating this milestone that supports EV adoption and strengthens California’s leadership in the clean energy transition.
