CalETC hosted two events during the press and public days of the Los Angeles Auto Show on November 16 and 18, 2016. Each event included a guided tour of the electric vehicles on display at the Auto Show.
During the press day round-table luncheon, Eileen Wenger Tutt of CalETC led utilities, automakers, local and state government leaders in a discussion of the status of the electric vehicle market and how to provide certainty for low carbon transportation incentives.
During CalETC’s public day panel, electric vehicle experts weighed in on the status of electric vehicle technologies, how automakers will market electric vehicles beyond the early-adopter market, the importance of public charging infrastructure and consumers’ charging experience, the need for financial and non-financial incentives, and their top recommendations for accelerating the market in the next few years. The panel was moderated by California Air Resources Board Vice Chair Sandra Berg, and included Tom Ashley of Greenlots, Shannon Baker-Branstetter of Consumers Union, Shad Balch of General Motors, and Chelsea Sexton, EV Industry Writer and Advocate.
Both events were sponsored by Chevrolet, Nissan, South Coast Air Quality Management District, Southern California Edison, and Toyota; with support from Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.
